Alot of the taxi driver on the Island are saying that the pirates boats are just taking away from what the taxi driver would of made, it is nothing else but a water taxi, but their are just making it sound like a tour.

Are you planning a cruise to St.Thomas V.I.

Conrad I was thinking the same thing. Being that they essentially just a water taxi, don't they have to be lincensed by the VI Taxi Commission? I can't imagine they would endorse or allow such a thing when it clearly takes away from others.

I would want to think that the word TOUR is only there as a distraction.

From the description the word "tour" can be used very loosely.

    Thank you fllady,
I look forward to reading your experiences in November as we leave in December. Yes we are hoping for perfect weather too. We tried to stay out of hurricane season only to be told after we booked that it might be cold. I could have picked any month and I'm thinking WHAT IT MIGHT be cold, what was I thinking. lol

Don't worry .... It won't be cold in neither November nor December!

Our Caribbean cruises (sometimes between New Years & mid March) are always VERY warm.

The only place the water might (depending) be a bit cool on your itinerary is CoCoCay.

Also looking forward to Jeanne's (fllady) Emerald report! Yours too! We'll be on Emerald for a B2B in January!

St. Thomas stays warm all year!

Cruise the picturesque St. Thomas harbor on a pirate-themed cruise to all three shopping areas — downtown Charlotte Amalie, Havensight Mall, and Crown Bay.

Board your pirate ship at any of the locations and be prepared to follow the Captain’s orders or you may be ordered to walk the plank. St. Thomas was home to some of the most ruthless and infamous swashbucklers to ever sail the seas. Blackbeard, Calico Jack, Anne Bonnie, Henry Morgan and others frequently traded their captured treasures on the shores of St. Thomas. Now, hear the history of these real life pirates as told by their distant relatives. Sons and daughters, twelve and thirteen generations removed, have returned to these same waters to entertain you as you sail between the three shopping areas — Havensight, Charlotte Amalie and Crown Bay. Hop off, shop, and hop back on a different boat to hear the history of another pirate. Your ticket is valid all day while you are in port.

Our these the areas I want to shop in?????

I loved where we went last time, but the ship was docked in a different place than it will this time so I am all turned around. The ship gave a shopping talk and we got a coupon book for pearls and to this day I still love them and want to buy more from the same shop. Wish I could remember which one and what the shopping area was called. It was about a 4 minute drive from the ship but all the other cruise ships were far across the bay if I remember correctly.

What do you think of this tour???

Surely by now someone has done this and can make a comment!

Hi Lulu, I did post it when we returned, but now I can't find it?? We enjoyed the boat and the guys who ran it. They give you a little history about St Thomas, and we stayed on just for the ride to the different areas. We did hop off down town and hop on later on, after spending my saved money on some new earrings! I wouldn't recommend it if the weather is bad, althoguh they did have those plastic windows that roll down if the weather was rainy. I don't think it will be taking much business away from the taxis. Once was a nice change of pace.
