We ate at Fat Turtle at Yacht Haven Grande this past May. It was a nice night and the Majesty of the Seas was in port late. Had a great view of the ship as we ate. I thought the menu was limited if you didn't want a sandwhich or burger, but the food was good. After we ate we walked around a bit, I wasn't really impressed with the shops. Definately catering to the "yachties" that bring their boats in for a stay.

I remember the hotel that was there prior, Yacht Haven. It was painted pink for a reason I am sure Conrad remebers too, and knows what I am eluding too.

In 1968 Woody Hayes was asked why he went for 2 points vs. michigan. He replied "because I couldn't go for 3"

I certainly do remember the Yacht Haven Hotel that after a couple of hurricanes destroyed it -- it sat empty for years before the property was resold and torn down to build the new marina and shops. AHH -- we never stayed there.

I am not sure why it was painted pink, may be you can tell me the reason, then it may ring a bell.

Besides pink being "tropical" color, the hotel had a reputation as being the place to go for gay and lesbian couples. I remember going there as a kid for dinner one night and seeing quite a few couples holding hands as they walked around.

I thought this was common island knowledge.
