Are you talking about Intrav Clipper Cruise Line or Star Clippers?

Clipper Cruise Line has two small ships (122 - 128 passengers) and both are very nice - not sure I would call it a mega yacht, but do offer a big yacht experience with an expensive price.

Not to be confused with Star Clippers which are tall sailing ships. Definitely not luxury, but offer a unique experience with reasonable fares.

Really depends on what you're looking for in a cruise as these two are completely different.

As I mentioned, the Star Clippers are not considered luxury. Nice, but not luxury. Definitely not to be compared to Windstar, which is a luxury sailing ship. I'm not sure I would even classify it as a 'mega yacht' - since it's a tall sailing ship. To me a 'yacht' tends to symbolize luxury. On my scale of 1 to 5 stars, Windstar is 5 stars and Star Clippers is 2 stars.

I found the article interesting because they tried to compare it against cruise ships, which are in a different category, and did not really compare the ship against anything else, plus they never discussed the food onboard.

Star Clippers is nice for those looking for a unique experience. It's a one-of-a-kind adventure that true 'sailors' will appreciate, especially when under full-sail. It's beautiful and definitely a must-do for those wanting something different. But the cabins are small, the food is only so-so, and they really cannot be compared to much else as they are in a unique category of sailing ships. Since the demise of Windjammer, there's not much else to choose from in this particular category of ships.

As with most ships and cruise lines, some people love them and some people don't like them at all. The fun thing about cruising is trying everything to find something that suits your needs.
