There is a lot to do in St Thomas. The only recommendation I would make is to not go to the stores they tell you about on the ship. Of course, we feel that way about all the islands.

And what better testimonial is there than that? In Ireland we first went to the store that the cruiseline suggested. THEN we went to the store right next door and bought everything we wanted. Better quality, better prices, and better service.

Same with us first time we went to St Thomas. This is where we learned our lesson. Free diamond? Right. Bring your microscope. We tried a couple stores and then did all our shopping at the top of the peak.

That is so true, and when we try to tell people not to spend the whole day trying to look for the stores with the free this N free that, They don't want to listen to us, but when they see it, then it hit home, wasted day.

The ships get's up to 40% of every sale the store make, most of the recommended stores that is.
And if you check you would notice that the different ships recomment diferent stores. Next time you come and walk into the stores, check by the door as u walk in and u will see a counter on the side of the door that counts every time a person walks in to a store, that will tell you how many custermers walk in and average the amount of sales the store should have made, and you will see all of the workers in the store will duck down when entering the store, that is so they will not be counted as a coustermer.

When I went to St.Thomas I took a ferry to St. Johns and went to a great quiet beach. It was great. We took a cab to red hook and got on to a ferry. Then we took a cab when we got to St.Johns to treetrunk beach. It had snorkling and fish and turtles and lots of sea life. You can rent gear and they have food to buy. It was a great experience.
