Hi,
I thought this might be handy for anyone planning a trip to St. Thomas. I intended to post it as soon as we returned, but, well, I didn't. Anyway, I hope someone finds this useful.
Our family went to St Thomas on the Victory in 2005. We went on a great charter out of Red Hook. Ron and Carol operated the charter and they were fabulous!!! My husband doesn't like to be on any boat smaller than, oh, a cruise ship, but he agreed to give this a try and he loved it.
We four were the only passengers that day (they have a limit of 6) and they totally tailored the day to our specifications. We sailed for a while, then went to three small coves so the kids and I could snorkel. Hubby was thrilled to meet some fellow Parrot-heads and had a great time visiting with Ron and Carol; they were very competent, so he was able to relax and enjoy the trip.
We were referred to them by Capt. Sharon at http://www.sailwinifred.com because she was already booked that day. We waved to her as we left port with Ron and Carol. Her boat was also gorgeous and I am sure we would have had a wonderful time on it .
11/21/09 Crown Princess 2/18/10 Island Pricess B2B Ft.Lauderdale to Acapulco and back (total 20 days)
OVER 40 (started young) Princess, Celebrity, RCCL, HAL, NCL, Costa, Disney, Carnival, Sitmar (Princess bought), and (a very long time ago) SS Bahama Star
We did a regatta of 3 charters in March, High Pockets, Alaunt and Fantasy. We all 3 stopped in a cove at St. John's for snorkeling & lunch, it was wonderful!!! I was on HP and it was GREAT, but our friends on Alaunt described their lunch and day a little better than what we experienced!!! Next trip--Alaunt!!!
Another excellent charter or per person trip is the VIP Sailing and Snorkeling Excursion to St John we had a phenominal time on this trip, food, drinks and the view..my daughters also found the captain a specially nice to view...girls Anys, we loved it and would do it again
We did VIP too back in March. I cannot praise it enough. Im a regular cruiser and all these tours tend become a bit same same when you have done a few of them. I was therefore thrilled to find something new, which offered amazing quality, a yacht that would look good at a boat show, and a young and enthusiastic skipper who really cares. VIP in every sense, it was the highlight of our cruise. take is easy on the Mamosas though!

What was the name of the boat ?
Did you board from a dock or did you have to get into a dingy that took you to the boat ?
