(From St. Thomas) St. John Trunk Bay Beach & Snorkel

How did you like this Excursion?
    (Carnival version listed)

St. John Trunk Bay Beach & Snorkel 4.00 hours $65.00*
Trunk Bay Beach is known as one of the world’s most highly rated beaches and its reputation is well deserved. On this excursion you will:
    • Take a scenic ferry ride across Pillsbury Sound to St. John.
    • Drive past Cruz Bay, Hawksnest Bay and famous Caneel Bay to world-renowned Trunk Bay Beach.
    • Enjoy the sunshine and crystal clear waters of the Caribbean as you relax and unwind.
    • Explore the underwater trails of coral and tropical fish.
Note: Trunk Bay is occasionally subject to unexpected sea swells, should this happen snorkeling may be cancelled as a safety precaution.

Snorkel equipment is provided on the excursion.

    I've done this one!
    (Though thru RCL, not CCL)
    Liked it fine.

A very nice day - the boat ride over was nice, the bus ride to the beach was quite scenic, and Trunk Bay was lovely.

One problem the day I was there was that some winds from a storm had the water very churned up. sSo - a lot of 'stuff' suspended in the water (mostly just sand/silt made the water less than clear. Also, it was very choppy, so part of the snorkel course was closed for safety. It was still lovely, though.

Trunk bay often appears on lists of the world's most beautiful beaches. I'm not so sure it deserves all that, but it IS very nice.

I'd love to go back someday - when the water is calmer!

Carnival shows two different St. Thomas Excursions that go over to St. Johns and Trunk Bay. One takes the Ferry and the other doesn't. There must be something about the geography, that if the wind is coming a certain direction, they anchor elsewhere/don't do the snorkling.
