Thanks for the tip.....I pretty much figured I wouldn't leave anything loose after what I've read.
The drive from Vancouver to Calgary is long, but will be awesome through the Rockies and Coast Mountains. I have never been further east than Calgary, but I would like to see the rest of Canada. Especially the Maritimes. I would also like to go to Toronto and paste some Canucks stickers around
I too prefer to travel south with vacation time......

The time to Calgary is about right - I have done it in 10 by myself, very little resting. Travelling with family and for the first time, you will want to stop and enjoy the sights along the way.
It's true, Alisa, I have seen more of the USA and Mexico than I have of Canada......
I used to be number 1 in frubals.....now I'm nothing
Dawn Princess 2002, NCL Wind 2003, Celebrity Infinity 2004, RCL Adventure of the Seas 2005, NCL Star 2006, NCL Sun 2007
I pretty much have Ontario covered, but for the rest of the country
I need heat, sun, sand, etc.. and you just can't get that in January - all we get is cold, snow, sleet, hail. Very depressing.
The Hockey Hall of Fame is great - plenty of Leafs stuff Just had to add that!
Is 14-15 hours a straight drive? We are planning on arriving in Vancouver on a Sunday and taking until Thursday to get to Calgary - is it doable? My kids want to go to the Stampede - they picked that over a vacation south this year. I do not know what got into them!
You guys.... Canada is an amazingly beautiful country. Great views. Everything from ocean, to woods, to mountains and lakes and streams, etc. Enjoy your great land!
I think I should become an honorary Canadian
Some of the best natural scenery I've ever seen can be found in Canada, east coast and west coast!
