Thread: Do you go to Orient Beach?

While in St.Maarten/St.Martin on a port stop, do you go to Orient Beach?

Just for a quick lookylu.

We've never been. About 10 years ago we had table mates who told us they were going and stripping there clothes off and walking the beach. We decided NOOOOOOOOOOO!

We got there everytime we're on the island! We rent a car at the pier, make a stop at Merigot to do some shopping, head over to the Bikini Bar & Grill at Orient Beach for burgers, fries, and beer, then go on down to the nude beach to go skinning dipping. No better way to spend the day than to swim nude at a beautiful beach. It's a great place to go and let it all hang out - so to speak. Many people go to see or be seen, but that's not what it's about. We don't care what others look like or what we look like. It's a nude beach for nudists and there's a big difference.

Depending on when you go, there can be anywhere from several hundred people out there to several thousand people. It truly is a beautiful beach.

My avatar picture was taken at Orient Beach three years ago. Note, I'm fully dressed and we were in the section of Orient Beach that's known for nudity. Actually, lots were IN bathing suits. Much more topless than complete nudity.

No one there cared that we wore ours as long as we did not care that they didn't.

Orient Beach is lovely and we very much like to go there sometimes.

Orient Beach is rather long and if you go down past the stone jetty on the south end (there's a sign there), you'll see mostly nude - this is where we like to go. There's actually a very nice nude resort there. Up until that sign, you'll only see mostly topless and some nudity, so it does depend on where you go as to what you'll see, or not see as the case may be.

How true that is, Pete!

We like to go to Pedro's which is next to that stone jetty and sign. You see a mix of clothing options there. It's a very fun place with live music and right on the beach.

As Pete mentioned, the farther up the beach you go ... less and less nudity. At Orient Bay there is almost none .... not even topless.

I've noticed when ships offer excursions to Orient Beach, they go to Orient Bay. We just take a taxi to Pedro's.

When we stop in St. Martin we thought we would wander round the shops, not my favourite thing, so what should we do...no crowded beaches for us if possible.

I can't understand why we have to go around the shops when there is a good bar to have a cool beer in
