    Taxi to Marigot?

We are sailing on the MSC Orchestra to the Eastern Caribbean in April, '09. We have been to St.Maarten/St. Martin several times and have already done the "Under Two Flags" tour and the America's Cup several times (America's Cup being one of the most fun "excursions" we have ever experienced). For our upcoming trip we are only interested in getting to Marigot for some shopping/eating, so we'd appreciate any information concerning taxis (fares, pick-up locations, etc.). Thanks.

We always rent a car in St. Maarten - that way we can stop at Marigot for shopping and then go on to Orient Beach for lunch and a relaxing day at the beach. Only costs from $45 - $75 for a very nice car and we've never had any problems in the many times we've done this. As you get off the pier, there are several car rental places to the right or you can rent ahead of time. Great way to get around the island, traffic is never a problem, and you can do your own thing in your own time.

Have fun - we love it there!

I know this doesn't answer your question but since you mentioned it, can you tell me a bit about the American Cup excursion... do you normally sail? What makes it so special and fun?
