Phil, you might contact Joyce Prince. We have a tour booked with her and I hear that she's very good.

There is some great shopping in Phillipsburg. The best beaches are on the French side though. See if you can go to Ormande Beach. I believe that is the name. Beware though that its french, and you will find some in au natural state(nude) lol.

I forgot which beach we went to on the French side, but we took a nice cab ride there, parked in front of a beach bar, had a nice beach day, ate lunch at the bar, and headed back to port. There we did some shopping in the outdoor market, cheap T's and some unique towels. My wife bought some Xmas gifts, as the beach towel could be folded up into itself, and became a beach bag that you can carry sunscreen, sun glasses, etc. It is not the ones which are basically a towel with a bag attached. They were also for sale on the beach, not much more than 10 bucks.

After shopping, you can also take a dip in the water near the ship, not a bad beach, and plenty of cruise ships in the background.

I read somewhere that Marigot, the capitol on the French side, closes the shops down for 2 hours in the afternoon. Does anyone know if this is true? Do they know which two hours? Thanks.

Hi Phil. Gold and Diamonds, can't get enough!!!! Great prices, but know what you are buying. We do the best in gold, gems are harder as you really have to know your stuff.

We mostly walk into town and do a little shopping... The prices in St Maartin are the best in the Caribbean.. My wife stocks up on her favorite perfumes there at a fraction of the cost.. Booze is the cheapest there also, $1.00 - $3.00 less per bottle than St Thomas...
