I know it's probably too late for this answer but here's what I found about the chocolate store in St. Martin:

FINEST CHOCOLATES

You don't have to go all the way to Belgium for the finest chocolates. Just wander down to 109 Old Street in Philipsburg. That's where you'll find the Belgian Chocolate Shop, where milk, dark and white chocolate creations are handmade fresh every day by chocolatier Beatrix Detroy. Unlike most chocolates, says Detroy, you'll find no additives or preservatives in these sweets. Choose from dozens of varieties, including guavaberry truffles and white chocolate pecan in red wine.

Does anyone have info on private tour guides for St. Martin. I tried Joyce, but she's booked for our date. Is there anyone else someone can recommend? If we don't find a guide, we may just rent a car and go out on our own.

Hello - We were there last November. We talked to the taxi drivers and negotiated a rate. Our taxi driver took us to all the hot spot. We wanted to go to Merigot for lunch. He drove us there but recommended we go to another area for better food and prices. He dropped us off for lunch at the other location and returned an hour later to pick us up. He drove us back to the port using a different route and we got to see the whole island. I think we only paid $20 each. He had a mini-van and we had about 5 people. We didn't have to mess with a rental and we got a bargain tour guide to boot. The driver was really great. Just make sure the driver speaks your language before you start negotiating. You don't want to end up driving around lost because you can't tell your driver where you want to go and he can't tell you where you are.
