Thread: Reduit beach safe?

Going to be in St. Lucia in Nov 2010. Princess offers a Beach Excursion to Reduit Beach for $29 pp including transportation and beach chair. It states it is 9:30 - 12:30 and we are in port 8am - 6pm. Would like to stay longer at the beach but don't know if it's safe to do on our own, nor how. Wish the ship excursion was longer.

Loved our day at the beach in Cabo where we spent all day on loungers in the sand under umbrellas.

Reduit Beach is safe. Most there are from the MANY nearby hotels and condos. The only real down side it there are lots of vendors milling around so I wouldn't plan on leaving anything of value on the beach unattended even for a very brief time.

It's easy enough to get there on our own ... just take a taxi. You'll be in the taxi, on the beach, or at a beach bar ... lots of folks around ... so it's not like you're wandering around alone.

To be perfectly honest we don't like St. Lucia as much as lots of others do. It's lush and quite a pretty place ... but all we really ever want to do is go to the beach or out in a catamaran. Still, we had lots of ports stops there over the years and like to at least do something. We enjoyed going to Reduit Beach best.

Not the best Island for beaches really, I would either do one of Cosol's tours or the Cat trip to the Pitons. I would not fancy going to lonely spots alone either.
