Not knowing much about this island, and where exactly we were in relation to the Pitons, we hired a cab and asked him to take us to the nicest closet beach.

It didn't strike us an anything that great. And we didn't do our stop any justice. We did enjoy the complete 180 turn we had to make in the harbor on board the ship.

Yes, St.Lucia is a beautiful lush green island ... but after many (too many) port stops there we are yet to find anything we really enjoy doing there ....

There are many things to do in St. Lucia including two of our favorites; going to the beach and sightseeing. It's an absolutely gorgeous island - one that really needs to be explored to be appreciated.

Of all the places we've been to in the area, this is one of the more beautiful islands - would never dream of staying on the ship in this port - just too much to see and do.

If we want to go to the beach, we prefer to get a one day pass at an all-inclusive resort. This way we not only get to enjoy the beach, but we also get all the food, booze, and water activities included in the price. Makes for a wonderful day at the beach.

Pete .... Which all inclusive resort? Were you able to make advanced reservations?

We looked into going to one of the Sandal's there (think there are three) but they wouldn't take reservations so we didn't want to take a taxi and not be able to get in ....

I can't give away all my secrets for free!!!!

But the Sandals Grande St. Lucian is one of those we've been to. They were taking reservations, but perhaps that's changed. However, they use to have a kiosk in the cruise terminal and sold day passes. Don't know if it's still there or not, but the last time we were there, they had a sign up that said no more passes were available for that day. Luckily, we already had ours and four of us went there to find out why they were not selling passes for the day. They were taking pictures for their new brochure, so they had a bunch of nubile young nymphs bouncing around in little bikinis. It was disgusting, but hey, somebody had to watch them! It was tough duty, but I managed to make it through the day without any long-lasting problems. lol

What I suggest is contacting Sandals and see if they sell day passes, then contact the resort directly and see what they say.
