It's always so sad to see the destruction that is wrought when so many have worked so hard to build. St. Lucia is one of my favorite islands, really a paradise on earth......

Very sad to see the destruction of these poor islands. Fortunately, there are many friendly neighbors who will aid those isles that were devastated by the hurricane's wrath.

I worry so much for these places. So many people could not leave the islands.

From an Assiciated Press article dated Saturday Aug 19:
In St. Lucia on Friday, strong winds tore corrugated metal roofs from dozens of homes and the pediatric ward of a hospital, whose patients had been evacuated hours earlier. Police spokeswoman Tamara Charles said a 62-year-old man drowned when he tried to retrieve a cow from a rain-swollen river.
