Thread: Catamaran to Nevis

Our February NCL cruise will put us in St. Kitts on Sunday, March 4th. I very much wanted to do the catamaran cruise to Nevis but we don't dock until 1 pm and leave at 7 pm. It doesn't look like we will be able to do this, given the time restraints.

I've contacted Leeward Island Charters by email but haven't heard back from them and have checked 2 other companies on line but they both leave earlier in the day.

Guess I'll just have to plan something else for St. Kitts, right?

Agree, Barb! Your timing in port is a real bummer! Taking a sailing catamaran to Nevis has always been our favorite thing to do.

While we've never been very happy with the beaches we've been in St.Kitts, some seem to be. Hopefully, they'll help out with suggestions.

Lulu: Thanks so much for your reply. I've been spending a lot of time on the computer and think I have most of our excursions figured out (at least tentatively).

Samana we are going to stay on the ship and try to get in some pool time (hot tub for the DH). Tortola we are going on a 2 hour tour with McLean Tour. St. Maarten is still up in the air. I've been in touch with Jo Juni Tours, Bernards Tours and am trying to get in touch with Preferred Tours. The web address I have for them keeps coming back "error" so don't know what's up with that. All of those tours include some time at a beach.

Antigua is absolutely going to be our "beach day" and I think we are just going to take a taxi to Runaway Beach and have lunch at Bikini Restaurant. That way we can determine how long we want to stay there.
Since DH is not a real "beach" person, I don't think it will be too long.

Barbados I've already booked a 3-1/2 hour tour through NCL. St. Kitts I think we are just going to walk around the port area for a short time and try to get in the pool again.

Barb, only wish I could be of more help. While I've been to all these places over the years many times, my DH is totally a beach/boat/bar person so I'm not much help to those who aren't. Also, about seven years ago my DH ask be not to book anymore independents which he thinks a too much trouble and to pick something offered by the ship even if it's more expensive ... so I'm somewhat limited in my options. He still doesn't mind taking a taxi to the beach which helps.

Your plans for Antigua sound great to me. We love going to the beaches there!

St. Kitts is a decent place to just walk around. Also, the fairly new port terminal is quite nice. There's a big covered bar in the middle which provides a wonderful place to "park" husbands.

Thanks, Lulu. I want to see St. Maarten (both sides) and go to the Sunset Beach Bar to watch the planes so think we will go with Jo Juni Tours. The excursion from the ship is 4-1/2 hours on Orient Beach with no sight seeing but it does include a free lunch and 2 drinks. Decisions, decisions. Of course, I have a long time to think about it but this is all part of the fun, isn't it?

Hey Lulu - It's been awhile since I've posted on this thread but I think we've decided on what to do in St. Kitts. Going to try to split a taxi with someone to go to Romney Manor and Caribelle Batik.

visited both last time we went there. they're in the same area. got both of these on the island tour.
