St.Kitts: Nevis Sailaway ...also called FanTaSea... REPORT

"Nevis Sailaway" some cruiselines call it "FanTaSea"

Princess calls this excursion Nevis Sailaway and Celebrity calls it FanTaSea. We been on both and they are exactly the same ... just a different name.

Don't miss this one! The beach in Nevis (Pinney's Beach) is what comes to mind when thinking of a Caribbean paradise -- tall palm trees, white sand, and blue water. You'll feel as if you are walking around on a Post Card!

It's a 6-Hour tour so you spend about 3+ hours at the beach. When we were there, no one was around except people from our catamaran .... Lots of room to either be under the palms in the shade or in the sun.

Even the lunch served was excellent -- grilled chicken. OK ... so you are thinking what we did ... no way you would eat chicken grilled in a BBQ pit on some island! Gee, was I wrong! the chicken was very well done ... moist inside and crusty on the outside. We also noticed the pasta salads, etc. were carefully packed in ice. Very good and no one was sick later.

Bar ... No Problem! They set up a bar on the beach -- rum punch, beer, & soft drinks.

The catamaran ride was good (a bit bumpy on the way out so sit toward the back if you don't want to get wet) and the crew helpful. We danced on the deck to Caribbean tunes on the way BACK and had a totally fun time.

Wonderful way to spend the day!

Out of curiosity, did you have any time after or before the tour to see the town? Would you recommend this tour if you've never been to this island? It sounds great, I just don't want to miss a thing. Thank you for taking the time and replying

jp .... It's an ALL day excursion so there is really no time to do anything else.

When are you going on Emerald Princess? Your clock says 956 days. Is that correct?

Years ago when we were at St Kitts, HAL didn't offer a trip there.

    How big is the catamaran?

    Does it have a bathroom?an

Can you walk ashore? Or do you have to swim?

KK .... Trust me on this one as I do you on the NE/Canada excursions. You and your DH would NOT enjoy it!

Thank you for your GOOD questions because they could be quite helpful to others:

    How big is the catamaran?

It's a very large sailing catamaran! The crew is fantastic!

    Does it have a bathroom?

Yes, but it's below so it might not be easy for all. At the beach there are none.

Can you walk ashore? Or do you have to swim?

There's no dock or anything like that. They do pull up very close to the beach so no swimming is required. Sometimes the water can be rougher than others which could be a problem for some. The crew will REALLY REALLY help anyone having a problem. Great Crew!

Sorry if the replies seem a bit negative ... just want to give honest answers!

    WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
