St JOhn - Off the Beaten Track

Here's a book kyou can order about St John that sounds really interesting:

St. John Off The Beaten Track
This year we completed revised and updated the popular St. John guidebook, “St. John Off the Beaten Track.”
In addition to all the information contained in the first editions, you will now find the excellent “Trail Bandit Map, in its entity and in enlarged detail for the individual trails. The new edition also has more than 200 informational color photographs. As well as trails, gut walks, shoreline scrambles and cool places to visit, St John Off the Beaten Track contains information about the beaches (both well-known and little-known), the best snorkeling spots, the terrestrial, coastal and undersea environments, history, culture, folktales and more.

Reading “St. John Off the Beaten Track” is 100% guaranteed to enhance your enjoyment of beautiful St. John.
St. John Off The Beaten Track

First published in 1996, when St. John was a still sleepy island, this updated version provides a respite from busy Cruz Bay. The guide offers an insiders view into the quintessential St. John with its hiking trails, scrambles and gut walks. Singer, a long time island resident, provides a framework for reference with lots of fast facts and an easy to read description of places of interest, flora and fauna, amidst a well laid backdrop of St. John’s rich history and island legend.

My Signature Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
Past Cruises Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart

I haven't been there, either. Don't you have to take a ferry over?

What is a "gut walk"? Never heard that term before.

I don't know what a gut walk is... sounds exerting, though!

You can take a ferry over - from St Thomas, I believe.

But there ARE some ships that do include St John on their itineraries...

NCL's Pear and Gem; Serenade of the Seas; Azamara Quest; and there are quite a few stops made by Windstar, Seabourn, and Seadrean Yacht Club ships.
