    Snorkeling St Croix

Has anyone done any snorkeling or diving here?

Since some ships are now callling at St Croix, I was curious about snorkling there. This is because someone once told me St Croix has some spectacular snorkel and dive sites.

Found this on St. Croix Island Guide: Snorkeling and Diving

The underwater world in the Virgin Islands is stunning and truly amazing! Swim among turtles, bright parrotfish, blue tangs, schools of fry and so much more. Explore corals and gorgonian forest of sea fans and sea whips.

St. Croix has many different types of dive sites of which most are fairly deep. The most famous dive location is “the Wall”, an area just a quarter mile from shore that slowly slopes then drops thousands of feet. Wreck dives are popular on the west coast of the island. For inexperienced or those that do not want to venture far off shore, St. Croix offers some spectacular beach diving.

    Hi Canarymoon,

Yes the wall at St. Croix is fabulous, but don't miss snorkeling Buck Island. It is a National park and is the best snorkeling in the US Virgin Islands.
Hooray for ships going to STX again!

    Totally Agree!

Also wanted to note: The snorkeling in Buck Island National Park in St.Croix is done by boat.

CM .... You probably know this BUT just in case anyone else is confused ....

The Buck Island offered as a shore excursion in St. Thomas is NOT the same as Buck Island in St.Croix. Totally, two different places.

Here's a link to the thread about which ships call at St Croix. It was last updated several months back, so there may have been more added now:
