I know the Spirit has the retracable roof area over one of the pools. Many have talked about swimming/being in the hot tubs in the glacier areas too. If the water is "Heated" then I can see it as a possibility. The Mariner's term of "heated" and mine were the same this last April. Never used the pools on the Spirit, so don't know how warm they get. In one review, someone did post that the pool was quite warm on the Spirit last month.
We used both on the Mariner. I admit the pool was cold when I first walked in, but then my body adjusted after the shock ... Hal and I both used the jacuzzi. I just couldn't stay in as long because of the heat. He thought it was great!!!
I'm putting this in the Amtrak thread .... thought it might be helpful to others too:

Blizzard Responded: It would be 2 different trains. Currently there is only one train from Vancouver to Seattle leaving in the evening. You would have to overnight in Seattle and then take the Coast Starlight the next day.
MY NOTE:
Debbie ... this would mean:
Tuesday ... Arrive in Vancouver, then take train into Seattle
Wednesday ... take train to LA (around 9 am)
Thursday ... Arrive in LA (around 9 pm)
Hi Reggie and crew. This seems like it might be too much fun, gonna reconsider the Seattle round trip and think about this one. Now for the important question, how many pieces of luggage can you take on the train?
I'm thinking about a back to back, doesn't the Spirit leave from Vancouver to Hawaii when they return. I'll email you next week Reggie.

Yes, the train is a marvelous way to travel. The great thing is you can check 3 bags and carry on at least two. That certainly beats the airlines.
Yes, Spirit does a cruise to Hawaii right after it finishes this cruise.
I'll be heading to LA from 6-29 till 7-3, I'll be sailing 4 nights on Paradise.
We can do it before or after then, we still have time.
