I did the same thing this year on my Infinity group cruise. We visited an overlook high above the city in North Vancouver and it was a beautiful ride there and a marvelous scenic view of the whole city of Vancouver.
We also stopped at several points in Stanley Park, the Gas Lamp district and China town. We spent about an hour and a half for a meal break at Granville Island too.
A very thorough and enjoyable tour.

There are still a lot of options for our return to Vancouver.I definitely plan on doing the motorcoach tour of Vancouver.Where we go from there is open for discussion. We can do the train back to Seattle and spend the night before returning home by train or by plane. Another option is to travel to Victoria and we can do that on the same bus that we will do the tour of Vancouver. After our Vancouver tour the bus can take us to Victoria Via B. C. Ferries. We will remain with the bus on the ferry although we can get off the bus and visit the dining and refreshment options offered on the ferry. The bus will then drop us in Victoria at a hotel where we can stay for a day or 2 and then return via the Victoria Clipper to Seattle. That would then require another night in Seattle for those wishing to take the train as it leaves at about 9:30 AM.

I will start a new thread where we can discuss the options.

Being from Victoria, I would highly recommend it. I think 2 days (one night) is plenty of time to enjoy the highlights. If you are taking the ferry, it will take you a half day to get here and a half day to get back. Inner Harbour and Butchart Gardens are a must see.

The Gardens are a lovely sight.....I miss being able to access Vancouver from Seattle so readily. One of the coolest cities in North America, IMHO.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread...some great photos.

I used to live in Vancouver, if you ever go to Victoria, don't miss out on your chance to feed the seals at the Fisherman's dwarf.

Vancouver is an amazing city for hiking and sight seeing- I suggest going out west to UBC and seeing the Museum of Anthropology, Nitobe Gardens and the nice nude folks at Wreck Beach.
