Barcelona: Airport to Pier and vice versa...

How far is it from the Barcelona airport to the cruise ship pier and vice versa? Does anyone have any idea what the cost for a taxi would be?

I've heard different things about taxi's in Barcelona. Some people say to be careful because they will cheat you and not run the meter, and others say differently. What has your experience been?

Taxi services are all over, but be sure and ask the price, they tend to change them at the pier,it seemed to be half hr.,the airport was quick at customs,no hassle. What a city,we stayed there 3 days before boarding the ship.In fact we paid the driver the original price agreed upon and left him arguing with RCL

Alisa, I was given this website by one of my coworkers

    www.travelthewondersofspain.com

He was born in Spain, and this site is his mother's. She arranges tours in Spain and comes highly recommended - by her daughter-in-law! I don't know if she ever sets up short trips like yours, but there may be info available there that you are interested in.

We've visited Barcelona three times and had great experiences. We have always stayed on La Rambla. The taxi fare from the airport to La Rambla is around 22 euros for two people and four pieces of luggage. From La Rambla to the port is 18 euros. We've never had a problems with taxis, they always run the meter and are very pleasant. They don't speak too much English. Make sure you have euros, they won't accept anything else.

Wow. Great, thanks so much for the info re taxi fare. At least now I have a good idea of what I should expect. I've already got some Euros and plan to use the ATM at the airport for more when I get there!
