Apart from the usual sights Barcelona is so known for, Sagrada Familia, Parc Urgell, Las Ramblas, Casa Bastllo, the Montjuic Park with the Palau National, the Picasso Museum you should head to the El Born area.
El Born is to your left (looking down Las Ramblas towards the sea) Its full of young artists and designers small individual stores many exellent restaurants and cafes. Passeig de Born is a good place to spend an evening.
For some really different and creative Tapas you should try the Santa Maria Restaurant (Commerc 17)
The gothic church Santa Maria del Mar in El Born should also not be missed. You should not miss the stunning, spacious interior of the church. The church was built by the architect Berenguer de Montagut in honour of the Holy Mary of the seas, the patron saint of sailors.
La Boqueria market is very interesting too. I like to walk around the market in the morning and just take in the smells, sounds and sights of all the flowers, food items, birds etc thats for sale here. The market is open from 8am-830pm and its half way up las Ramblas.
