(for mje) feb 25, 2008 Sovereign of the Seas

mje will be sailing on the Sovereign of the seas on Feb 25, 2008 - four nights.

    Is anyone else going?

Some of the things you might not want to miss are the dueling pianos in Boleros lounge, sipping a "Yellowbird" in the Schooner, and most especially your day at CocoCay.

The day on RCL's private island is alone worth the price of the cruise, IMO!

mje asked me for tips about the Sovereign, so, mje... here's a thread for asking anything aspecific you'l like to know!
Hopefully, some others will find this thread as well, and you'll find a shipmate or two.

    You're welcome.

I hope you will love the Sovereign as much as we do!

She's the oldest ship in RCL's Sovereign class... first sailed in 1988, and she carries around 2800 passengers.

Although many people today consider her a small ship, when she was launched, she was the largest cruise liner ever built, and she just amazed everyoine who sailed her.

Now, she's like that comfortable pair of shoes... and when we board her, we feel at home.

We are incredibly sad to think we will be losing her to Spain in another year.

We sailed Sovereign when she was less than a year old and I am sure we will enjoy the cruise as much this time as we did then. This will be our first 4 day cruise and I hope it won't be too short. If it is and the weather is nice, we will stay a week or so in Ft. Myers Beach.

Sorry - did n't realize you had been on the Sov before.
Why don't you plan a day or two before or after in Cocoa Beach? You could tour Kennedy Space Center. (If you've never seen it) It's amazing!

We stayed in Cocoa Beach for three nights two years ago. We did get to spend some time and tour Kennedy Space Center and Merritt Island Wild lLife Refuge. When we cruise in Feb we will stay in Fl for a few weeks, mostly in Ft. Myers Beach. We have a friend that lives in Ft. Myers and relatives that live in Hudson. Back to your suggestion, we may stay one day in Cocoa Beach, we haven't seen the old part of the town and may do it this time.

Hudson is a very cool little place.
Love to go down to the little beach there to see the sunset!

I would LOVE to, but business is very slow right now, so capital preservation takes priority over discretionary spending right now.

On the other hand, if business is slow, you won't miss that much if you cruise. Just kidding, I know how you feel.
