Buenos Aires’ first dedicated cruise terminal is scheduled to open in December to accommodate the surge in arrivals over the past five years. The 12,300 sqm Quinquela Martin terminal will be able to handle 12,000 passengers a day and will incorporate a large retail area in the arrivals area.
Cruise traffic into Buenos Aires has doubled since 2005, and last year the port welcomed 140 vessels carrying a total of 230,000 passengers. The new terminal means that, instead of one 300 m ship at a time, the port will now be able to process four such ships simultaneously
