That sounds lovely, Hanna. We were on sister-ship Brilliance years ago and enjoyed her very much. That looks like a great balcony!
I like the Radiance better than the Brilliance. I think it's because the crew is better on the Radiance. Super attentive. But I almost like any ship as long as I'm on it.
Hanna, I agree with you about the Radiance crew. They are the best I've ever sailed with and win all kinds of awards every year. I've heard the Jewel has a good crew too. I sure hope so since we have 3 cruises booked on it!

We enjoyed the Jewel too. If I remember correctly, the crew was very good. You will enjoy it Garry. Hey...its a ship! And you're on it!

I see similar comments (elsewhere) all the time, and I've never been compelled (gee, I wonder why) to question them.
But, I feel relatively safe doing so here. So, let's discuss...
We know crewmembers come and go after each cruise (sometimes mid-cruise). So, there is constant & frequent changeover.
Moreover, we know the crewmembers regularly get reassigned to other ships after their vacation break. I can't tell you how many times I have been talking to a crewmember and they say they are "going to _____ next contract."
So, how is it that anyone can reliably expect a crew aboard a ship to be better/worse than another ship given any reasonable amount of time? Obviously I am not talking a few weeks, but 6 or 9 months later...
Or, how can the awards that a particular ship consistently wins be attributed to the crew? Certainly, the crew has to be substantially different than the last time the ship was judged...
Food for thought?

Kent, I just ate, so thanks anyway.
You are probably right on. The crew changes constantly. So it must be management? That would by my simple answer. Although on our first Radiance cruise, our cabin steward was a lovely little gal named Myra. That was in 2003 and then last year we sailed her again and she was still there.
I would think that it really has to do with upper management. But, do they change constantly also? I have no idea.
Back in the stone age, when I was still working, I was an office manager for the last 18 years.
I had employees come and go, but I prided myself on keeping everything going in the way that I thought I should. It worked well for me. And for the company. I pride myself on receiving many awards personally and for our location as well.

I heard that we had a less than ideal crew on the Noordam because a lot of the people on the ship were the ones passed over for moving to the new Eurodam. Some times a rotten attitude will permeate through the entire crew or employees in general when they are the ones who feel slighted.

Garry, could you be so kind as to answer Ronda's questions about combining OBC. I am not sure of the answer....
