Hi gang. Thanks for the concern. Gable did just great! The Vet was able to do his stitches inside, and just use some sort of glue on the outside, so he did not require a horrid satellite dish around his neck.
Of course, he went home with instructions that we were to keep him quiet for 7-14 days. Well, that worked fine the rest of that day and night. You could just tell he was a little hazy all night from the medication, and he couldn't keep his eyes open for anything...
Did I mention he's a puppy???
First thing the next morning, I was awakened when he launched himself onto the bed (and onto me), ready to play. Aside from the occasional "Uh, hang on, I gotta check down here, something feels a little strange" diversion, the boy is good as gold. Or, should I say golden? And I believe all is forgotten already. I have no idea how we're going to keep him quiet for the rest of the week.
I hope everyone had a fantabulous weekend.
