Solstice - Dec. 7, 2008 to the Caribbean

We have booked this cruise on the brand new ship. Three new cruises have been added because the ship will be ready early. This will be a great time to cruise--after the rush of Thanksgiving, and before the rush of Christmas.

    Who's going to join us?

We are in. I managed to convince Charley that we have plenty of sea days, a new ship and great price! He is not a fan of the Caribbean. He burns so easily. I love the beach and haven't been there in a long time.

December is a long way off, however, anticipation is part of the fun.

    Looking forward to see everyone!

Hi Claudia. I'm so glad Bob and I will be sailing with you and Charlie again. From everything I'm reading about the Solstice, there may be no need to leave the ship. It looks like there will be enough to entertain us on board. I'm looking forward to exploring the ship.

    Silence

Well, I think I will break the silence.

We have been cruise deprived for so long. I look forward to this 7 day trip.

I didn't think that 7 days will be enough but the idea of trying out all the restaurants seems like fun. We will be celebrating our 30 th so a week of new restaurants is fun. The ship looks so classy. Can't wait!

In the meantime, I will busy myself with my garden. It is really pretty this year.

Garry, I bet you will love that porch and you'll need to plant lots of plants.

    Later,

    Claudia

Claudia, any suggestions? I'll take all the help I can get!

I can't wait to try out all the restaurants either! The ship is so large, we may not book any excursions and just spend the week exploring the ship. I really can't wait to see her!

    Hey Garry

Do you have the web cam link that UK Phil has for the Solstice in the shipyard? I assume he is able to log on and see what's being done in actual time. Thanks!

Hi Char, I haven't seen the link. No, I take that back, I saw it somewhere. Was it on the DS?

Garry, I will have to do so research regarding what plants. Do you have full shade in the backyard or morning sun, afternoon shade, or what? Also, what type of soil do you have? Sandy? I know your soil has to be so much better than our concrete .

I might have said this a while back but maybe some dogwoods? Also I was thinking of a fern dell with a little water feature and some misters? Just a thought.

    Gotta go to church.

    Happy Fathers Day all.

    Claudia

Char, is this the link you're thinking about? Meyerwerft Website
Phil is on a holiday right now. In fact, he's visiting Joanie in Arizona and has just returned for an Alaska cruise aboard the Infinity. I don't know if he'll check in before going home next week.

Claudia, our soil is a mixture of clay and sand. The back yard has full afternoon sun until sunset. We are going to have a walkway installed and I want to plant bushes in front of the porch. I already have a dogwood, 3 azaleas, corkscrew willow, river oak, and a rhododendron along the fence. I also have on order and sassafras to replace the one that died.
