Thread: Solstice - Dec. 7, 2008 to the Caribbean

Hey! Are you guys getting cranked up over here? Geez, two weeks left, you'd think there would be a little more excitement...

What's up with you all?

Hi Kent. Believe me, there's excitement. I just think all the action is over on the DS. Also, I'm busy with name tags, cheat sheets and an updated list of cruisers. Right now I've got 168 name tags to make before we sail! But first I have to host my family for Thanksgiving. It's a busy, fun time.

I'm "Cranked Up". Been busy trying to fig. out if we should move our office or not. Getting bids on moving our signs, etc. Thank goodness we had a Come to Jesus meeting with the new ah*** landlord. I have been trying to toss stuff to make it easier and in between trying to sell anything so I'll have a check when I get back from the cruise.

Yea, the volume on the party is getting louder.

Lucky Ducks!!! Next time Solstice comes back, she's coming to get y'all.

Last night I finally got into the cruise packing mode. Some wine helped!

After playing "Dynasty (DS)", I realized I don't like any of the shoes I l have to wear with the formals I plan to wear. As much as I like my shoes, heel + Formals on a ship = instability factors. It would fun to wear one of the gowns with some crocks. I mean who sees you shoes under the formals anyway. After all it is "my" vacation and I want to be comfortable.

Go for it, Rayna. We can't wait to hear reports from you guys. Some of the initial nitpicking is making me . Nothing is ever perfect but so far I haven't heard anything that would cause me to be concerned. Have a great time - we wish you bon voyage and smooth sailing.

I've stopped looking! It's gotten so nitpicky. When we get back, I'll come on your thread and answer questions. I think this ship is going to be awesome and even though some things need work, I believe we're going to come home very impressed! The nice thing is, we'll be on the Equinox transatlantic cruise next November. We must remember that the Solstice is the prototype and they will be making changes and improvement with each ship.

I sailed on the Radiance OTS on it's inaugural and it was fabulous. There were so many things that needed to be worked on, but the overall ship was beautiful. The Brilliance and the Jewel show the improvements.

Garry - that's the right attitude to have. I know you will have a great time. Thanks for the offer - I can already think of some specific questions I haven't had answered yet so I will hold them for your return.

I need to get a life. I have been reading all that stuff on the DS. Some people will never be happy. I can't imagine having a bad time!

Just finished ironing the formal dresses. I am still putting them in the luggage but I bet they still will look ok.

I have decided I have ADD when it comes to packing. It is so easy to get side tracked. I will even clean something in the house than finish the job. Like right now! Better get back to work.
