Single Supplement on Celebrity - Current Specials

Just got this and thought those singles out there who like Celebrity would appreciate these specials.

A 125% supplement sure beats the usual 200% supplement!

125 % is a good price but it depends on where you are going. I am cruising with HAl
next year on a 14 day cruise to Alaska. for a outside stateroom I am paying almost 200%

she says that she has no desire to go on an Alaskan Cruise. I don't know why. she just refuses to go. we have done Caribbean. Panama canal and next month Bermuda. she say that I can go alone, In 2 years I told her about an Hawain Cruise,. that I didn/t have to ask twice. May be after the Bermuda cruise she might change her mind.

I think if there's lots of space available, why not sell a single cabin for 125% instead of charging 200% and not selling any. I always figure it's better to make some money than no money. But then again, I always seem to look at these things differently than they do. Celebrity use to be really good about offering decent single supplements, but not within the past few years.

As for Alaska, can't understand why anyone wouldn't want to see it at least once in their lifetime. It truly is a magnificent part of the world. We spent 2 weeks with HAL touring around in the Yukon and Alaska along with a cruise and it was amazing!

Hopefully, you can find someone who will want to go with you because it's beauty is best shared with someone.

The single supplements charged with all companies is a nightmare. I can't afford to travel on my own now with the extra cost. There are so many single travellers why dont they design cruise ships with more single rooms. My friend is coming with me to Alaska and we don't mind sharing, but not everyone wants to do that.

Currently, the only ship designed with single cabins is the NCL Epic.

However, I was talking one of the VP's at RCCL several weeks ago and they said that RCCL is looking into changing some of their smaller cabins on a few ships into single cabins to see how they sell. If they do well, then they're thinking about following the Epic's lead and will consider putting them on more ships. While all of these cabins are inside cabins, at least it's a start.

So this story is just beginning and it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

This is a major area of disconnect between most travel business and the public. Personally, I don't see the logic in their approach but they must figure that it is better to have 1/4 of the remaining cabins and rooms filled with single travelers than lose the double booking price.
