World Cruise 2012 as a single

Hi sadyl I have recently been widowed after 41 years to a wonderful wife and mother..having cruised extencivly over the past 6 years, it was our hope that we would both do a world cruise together in the future.

One of My wifes last requests was that I should go on the same cruise once she has passed away.. I would love to but not on my own. As a concequence I am activly looking for a companion ( female) to share the costs or at least some of them. I am looking for a small opperator, Fred Olsen, Cruise & maritime or similar, perferably adults only

    Please .... Any sugestions

    Regards
    Mike "O"

Wish you well! A companion would be great. Not everyone is born to be a solo cruiser, although some are okay with it. I went on a short solo cruise 2 years ago as a trial, it was okay, but had no connection with anyone except casual chat. My cause for solo was divorce, but it was after 37 years with him, it was still a loss. There were "moments" I didn't expect. One was formal night, I could not go.
Tomorrow, Dec 5, I'm going solo again, I hope to do better this time.
I hope you find a companion, and yes, a female. It makes a nicer situation socially. I would rather sail with a male if the opportunity arose, so I know where you are coming from there.

Hi Moke! I wrote this long post out and then my cat jumped on the keyboard and erased it all! I guess that is his way of saying "get off the pc and play with me!"

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I see quite a few reviews/blogs from people who enjoy cruising solo. I believe that Holland America has a 'Single Partners' program in case you want to share the cost of a room with someone. Personally, I think that I would just prefer to get an inside cabin solo, and get out and around the boat a bit.

I know on HAL that you can request to be seated in the MDR with other solo cruisers. -- Though I believe that there might be quite a few ladies out there that wold love a travelling companion!

I think that it is wonderful that you want to remember your wife in such a beautiful way and hope that you do go and have a fabulous time. Here is one blog written by a lady that often goes crusing 'solo:'

Here is another really good one:

Good Luck and Hope that you find your traveling companion!

    Take care and safe travels
