    Solo Cruising on SilverSea

SILVERSEA'S TOP 4 REASONS TO TRAVEL SOLO
(24 June 2010) Ultra-luxury Silversea Cruises has just sweetened the deal for single travellers by reducing the single supplement to a mere 10% (above the per-person, double-occupancy fare) for Vista, Veranda and Midship Veranda Suites on 4 voyages this year. Plus, 9 new sailings have a single supplement of just 25%.
Recognising that a growing number of men and women are travelling alone today, either by choice or necessity, the luxury cruise line is rolling out new Solo Traveller fares that make independent travel a most affordable and enticing option. This is the perfect time for single travellers to treat themselves to a luxurious Silversea cruise, visit fascinating destinations, and make friends along the way.

Steve Tucker, Silversea's vice president of field sales for North America, said: "These special rates make it easier for our single guests to make holiday plans without having to worry about finding a travel companion to keep the costs down. And what makes our new solo fares most attractive is Silversea's unrivalled all-inclusive value combined with other great incentives such as savings of up to 60% off published fares and free roundtrip air packages that include transfers."

With a crew-to-guest ratio that is almost one to one, single guests enjoy highly personalised service, warm hospitality, and an ambience that makes them feel right at home. Also, on several voyages, Social Ambassadors will be on board, which is a real plus for single female guests looking for a dining companion or a dance partner.

All-inclusive fares include a spacious, ocean-view suite (most suites feature a private veranda), attentive butler service, complimentary wines and spirits, fine dining, sophisticated enrichment and entertainment programmes, and all onboard gratuities.

Good information, I'd love to see it updated. So far all I get are 150% on the Silversea site. But 150% isn't bad!

Hi Very good news. This is my favourite line and with the recently upgraded evening entertainment (which is to be rolled out fleetwide in the next four months) it is definitley worth considering the "extra expense" especially as your onboard credit will be much lower than most other cruise lines. On the downside, once you have tried the more luxurious end of the market you do notice the "shortcomings" of the mass market cruise lines when you return to them.

Yeah, it's like flying business/first class on long-haul routes. Once you've done it, it's very hard to go back to coach (especially if, like me, you're way too tall to fit in coach seats!).
