best florida cruise line for single person

    Hello,
I am being flown out to Florida to do some work and figured that while I am out there I might as well take advantage of the cheap cruises from the area. I will be in West Palm Beach so it looks like I will be departing out of Miami and heading to the Bahamas or West Carribean. I'll prob be by myself though so am looking for the cruise line that is the "LEAST" family oriented. I've never been on a cruise before and I think this is the most impt factor is getting on the right ship which is fun and caters to young people and not families and older cruisers.
    Any advice?
I think Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Norwegian are the main carriers in the area.
I'm pretty fixed on the date as well - mid Nov, mon-fri 3 or 4 night cruise.
    thx

    Welcom to CLF,,
I would have to recomend Carvival for a couple reasons.
    1. The time of year you are going,, less kids.. There will be some,, but they will most likelly keep to their groups..
    2. The price.. It is cheaper and they do tend to market to the younger crowd.
    3. The single women. They (again, in MHO) tend to travel in groups and Carnival seems to be the line of choice
    4. The younger crowed. Even if your not there to look for the female. The age of the average cruiser seems to be younger on carnival.

Now,, Your milage may vary, check with your local dealer..
But as to every oppinion,, you know the saying,, everyone has one and some stink more than others.. LOL
I am sure that there will be kids, married couples and older people onboard..
But by and large, the majority I have seen seem to be the younger crowd..

Have a great trip.. Enjoy yourself...

As Dave mentioned, the time you're going is going to have less children than at other times.

However, a couple of things to keep in mind; most of the 3-night cruises are on the weekends (Friday - Monday), which often attract the 'party crowd'. The 4-night cruises usually go Monday - Friday, so you'll find less 'party crowd' and less children. There are some exceptions to this rule, but another thing to look at is the size and age of the ship.

The cruise lines you mentioned (RCCL, NCL, and Carnival) are the only ones at that time of year offering shorter cruises. Each will offer a different cruise experience, so it really depends on what you're looking for in your short cruise.

If I were you -- go for a 7 day cruise -- Ft Lauderdale -- Holland America.

Stay away from Thanksgiving week for all cruise lines.
