Question Which Cruise Line is BEST for Singles?

Which Cruise Line would you recommend for the SINGLE cruiser?

Gosh, I'm sooooooooo married and have never been on a cruise alone so I really can't be of much help to my friends/acquaintances who ask.

What would you suggest for a woman (48-68) sailing alone who wants a cabin of her own and not overly concerned about expenses and is not looking for a new romantic relationship? The big issue seems to be going to the dining room alone ....

My Signature LuLu ...

Going to the dining room alone is maybe the easiest part.
Your tablemates usually are great. If they are not, after the first night, ask to change tables. Easy.
which cruise line is best? I have sailed on five different lines, and find them all friendly.
The main thing, when you go solo, it o OPEN UP. Be ready to reach out to others and to accept friendly overtures. Talkl to people. Respond to them. You will be overwhelmed soon enough!!

Hi Miss LULU,

If she is a friend of yours I would assume that she is also from South Carolina.
You say she Has the means to travel when and how she wants.... I think for a cruise alone I would suggest Celebrity, Crystal, Regent .. all 3 excellent choices for a lady traveling unescorted. These lines with the help of a good TA will be able to ensure the lady has a dinner companion any night she so desires.

Wow. Sounds great. Would those same recommendations apply to a somewhat younger single female?

Lulu, My FIL (who is 78) says the best cruise line for singles is Radisson. They do not charge a premium for having only one person in a room.

Thanks Neal. I'll check out Radisson. I have not looked into them yet.

Fred Olsen

Single cabins, no supplement unless single cabins are not available and even then its not bank breaking like the other lines and they are incredible value for money too.

The itineraries are varied and the ships are small so they get places that the big boys can't. The cruises are from 3 to 70 days in length, fully formal and traditional.

The only problem with Regent is the price - ouch! (But they are superb!)
