How do you meet other singles on the boat?

Do you go to the bar/disco areas and look for other singles, or do you go with a group of singles?

I've only cruises RCI, but I know that they have a singles mixer. The CD always uses the joke:
"This is only for singles, no married people. We have this for the needy not the greedy."

I'll be single on our October cruise. I can go to the mixer, right?

Hey, I go solo a lot == and always meet lots of great people, some of whom are singles.

I usually join the roll call for my cruise and meet a great group of people before I embark. And I go to the connections or Meet and Mingle groupsl

I take my book and my sunglasses and head for the pool deck or the little deck outsid the buffet. And I talk to those around me.

I eat breakfast and lunch in the dining room so the waiter will seat me with other people, and I make a point to get acquainted with all of them at table.

I like to play bridge, trivia and other group games.

If there is a class or any group activity, I am there.

Of course, once I have made some friends too hang out with, I can just hang out and not play Eager Beaver.

It is soooo easy to make friends aboard ship. Just don't sweat itl Open up. Remember, to make a friend, you have to be friendly.

I'm not single, but I've gone solo on cruises, too. It really IS easy to meet people. My favorite way was to have lunch in the dining room, where I was seated with different people each day. Everyone had great stories, and very often we would wind up doing some activity together after lunch. That often leads to invites on shore excursions, too.

It doesn't take long to begin to recognize faces. Just smile and say hello; most people are very friendly and reciprocate in kind, and often stop for conversation.

If I want to be alone, I grab a book and head to the promenade deck for a few hours reading in a lounger.

    Cheers~

I meet people everywhere. Part of that is because of my name - I do talk to strangers. I talk to people while waiting for the elevators, on the elevators, in the buffet line, at the bar, walking around on deck and at a table full of strangers for breakfast or lunch. People on vacation are pretty receptive to talking to strangers as long as you are having fun and sharing the fun.

    Of course, Ruth is it?

My friends insist I would talk to a stump if no one else was around.

I talk to myself all the time, and to that old lady in the mirror.

I agree with everyone, I don't go solo, but smile and say "HI" to everyone and you meet lots of people!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.
