Probably, we've all had things that always annoyed us (rude people, etc) .... BUT .... Do your have things that never use to bother you in the least, that really do now?

    LuLu:

As always, you've posed wonderfully imaginative questions!

If I'm to keep everything in this cruising environment, I must admit to some difficulty, as long-term associations may inevitably suffer!

I cannot remember any Bad Encounters in my cruising days! That isn't to say, of course, that they don't exist! I prefer to establish comfortable relationships!

My comfort with Holland America and Princess lines is, now, "legendary!" One of these days, I may very well connect to a different outlook!

LuLu, I honestly can't say that anything really bothers me more now than a few years back. Slow embarkation, chaotic disembarkation, standing in slowly moving lines---I didn't enjoy that when I was younger and still don't! Nothing new that I can think of. We just go with the flow and enjoy ourselves.

Costa and MSC all announcements are made in seven different languages, after a while this gets annoying, especially after the end of a show and the Cruise Director spends twenty minutes giving announcements. Muster Drill on Costa Fortuna took nearly two hours.

Norman, THAT would definitely bother me!

We cruise most of the time on Celebrity and only have one daily noon announcement from the bridge and the announcement that the ship has cleared when we come into a port.

Celebrity now has the muster drill (on the Solstice class ships) in the main theater and it is pre-taped and shown on the big movie screen. At the end it has about 8 different languages saying to check the info on the back of the stateroom door. We don't have to take life vests, either...a BIG plus in my mind.

    LOUD Music
There really was a time when the louder the music the better. Guess I'm turning into my mother because it drives me crazy now.

The way I feel has already been expressed; bad food, loud music, long lines, loud kids, obnoxious people, bad manners, announcements every few minutes in multiple languages, etc, etc.

Guess it's true about what they say as for getting older and having less tolerance for some things. Perhaps that's why we personally prefer Holland and Celebrity since they do cater more towards the older crowd.

How could I forget this! On a couple of threads here I have complained about how loud the music is in the theater for the production shows! It's not so bad for individual acts. This seems to have started about 7 or 8 years ago and goes across all the cruiselines we have sailed on during this time frame..... Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Princess.

Have been on only Carnival and Princess. When some of the things I don't care for on Carnival start happening on Princess: more loud music, more pushing of drinks and other revenue producing selling, more announcements about that special bingo or art auction that I have no interest in....

I think, though, the only different thing that bothered us on our last cruise was a large number of inconsiderate or grouchy passengers. And not kids who were the inconsiderate ones...in fact, it seems they often were the target. Even one retired school principal mentioned at dinner that she's never seen so many rude people and she was sad to admit it was in her age group.

Yes, the production shows are so the worst!

In other places we can leave ... but, if we want to see the show, we are stuck with the LOUD music.

We try to sit in the balcony toward the back (aisle seats) so we can go if it gets too bad.
