Norman, would agree with you on the lounge singers. Definitely able to listen to them as most are quite soft in their playing.

    Cabin Location

There was a time when we did not care at all about our cabin location! Anywhere on the ship was fine with us ... as long as we were on the ship.

Now, it really bothers us not to have a cabin in the location of our choice.

Usually a cabin somewhere on the ship is good enough for us. (a balcony, though, please)

Neal, you bring up a good point on cabin catagories. Does NOT having a balcony bother you more now than when you first began cruising?

I can easily go up and down amoung suites, mini-suites, and balconies. Have to admit ... while I can do it ... sort of want a balcony.

On our last cruise without a balcony I almost injured my wrist a couple of times thinking (out of habit) there was a handle ... would have been lots better off in an inside cabin.

I know what you mean, Lulu. The balcony is a definite plus and while it won't make or break our cruise, it is a major factor. Now, we would never do an inside cabin even if one was offered to us free.

The loud music reminds me of leaving Barcelona. The music on the loud speakers was from the Barcelona Olympics (don't remember what year). It was opera, love classical music but really dislike opera). A woman was singing (screeching) and it was so loud all around us on the upper deck were covering our ears. I said, "please shoot her and put her out of her misery". Folks around me laughed and agreed. Jan went to tell a staff person to please turn it down as it was way too loud and annoying many of us. He reacted indignantly saying, "but madam. this is from the Olympics here and we always play it as we leave." Jan replied" play it, fine, but just turn it down, it hurts our ears." First and only time we had a Princess staff act what we felt was rude, but they did turn it doan.

On the other hand, coming into Venice they played Pavoriti over the loud speaker and it was awesome. It was not, however, ear drum breaking loud.
