Hi I have a Kindle which I think is very good, it saves weight and space but on my last cruise it broke, 25% of the screen went blank. However, it was replaced efficiently when I got home (well done Amazon). Like all modern technology it works well but when it fails it fails in spectular fashion.

I have had a Sony ereader for a couple years and think it is great! It reads epub and PDF formats really well. Everyone that has a Kindle seems to like them but with Sony you are not limited to buying their books. Also, if you install Overdrive on your computer you can check out books from the library.

My sister had found an ereader at a Sharper Image store that was on deep discount and just gave it to us tonight. It's called a Literati and came with 25 books (basic classic books like Alice in Wonderland, Dracula, etc) loaded on it. Plus we can load some freebie books (my daughter checked out the website and said those seemed to be bodice rippers, so she was disappointed). It says a wireless service is needed to upload books that are bought or free, but it did come with an USB cord. So I'll have to see if we could upload to our computer and use the USB port to load directly to the reader as we don't have wireless here at home.

Looks neat! Check out MobileRead Forums. They have thousands of free books. Also it is powered by Kobo and they have a good selection of books as well.
