the first one I went on with the DH was for our 10th anniversary and they upgraded us to a balcony( I am now a balcony snob) we went on Royal Carribean , out of San Juan and we had a ball. we didnt do the dining room, just the buffet and we enjoyed that so much more,
the one a year ago we went with 3 other couple and we did the dining room, we have decided that the next one we take, NO dining room.
we enjoy the freedom to eat when we want to and come and go when we want to.
we went on the Carnival Legend out of Tampa and I thought it pailed in comparison to the Adventure of the Sea's, but it was a heck of alot cheaper.
my 50th Birthday is next June and I was looking at the Carnival Victory out of San Juan in a 9A cabin, anyone done this cruise? would love some input
Noticed this is you very first post on CLF! Thanks for joining! So happy to have YOU as a part of things here.

We also sailed on SS NORWAY in the 90's! Liked her 7-day run: St.Thomas, St.Maarten, Nassau!

Sorry not to be of any help to you on Carnival Legend! Please do post this same question on the Carnival Board here on CLF. Feel sure others will know and can help!

Once again ....

Our first cruise spoiled us -- that's no joke.
We sailed aboard old Rotterdam.
All art deco, that ship's style spoke
of times long past the present, Ma'am.

We cruised Alaska's waters pure,
And sampled scenes of beauty wild.
We spent time at the rail, that's sure,
And saw such sights! The weather smiled.

But now we cruise on modern ships
with climbing walls and other things.
They're great, and we enjoy our trips
but miss the glow that mem'ry brings.

For on that old ship, everywhere,
Within our cabin, out on deck,
In lounges, dining room and stair
we felt the '20's in the air.

For us, the diff'rence of today
Is just a lack of mystery.
We love to cruise in every way
But miss the tie to history.

If somehow we could cruise once more
On that old ship of Poirot's time,
We'd pay full price and leave ashore
Our 'now' world for a cruise sublime.
