Thumbs up HAL is my favorite cruise line

Houch-
The mix of cruisers on HAL does tend to be older. But you will find many family and younger people as well as the young at heart on the ships during the summer and various school holidays. Also you will find more younger cruisers on the 7 day itineraries.

I am exceptionally blessed to be able to travel as I do in my mid 40's. HAL is my favorite cruise line. We love the bigger staterooms and the wonderful Indonesian crew and upscale atmosphere.

My kids also love HAL and are looking forward to our 14 day S. Carib holiday cruise on the Amsterdam. They like the new Loft area and Oasis designed for the teen passngers. I understand that the cruisers on our Noordam transatlantic will be older too, but the 2 couples from CLF are middish-50's and looking forward to the European itinerary followed by 4 days at sea and a day in Bermuda.

We were on Celebrity to Alaska in 2004 (I think) Well anyway,I was 55 and my wife was 53 and were the "teenagers" of the sailing. No late dinner seatings, time for bed. Great cruise, but not our "cup of tea". Did not care for the "atmosphere." Not ready for "Senior Cruising" yet. As for the discounts, let me be first in line. I have better luck with military discounts, have saved a bundle with these, with Carnival.Have not received a senior discount. Can't really get a senior discount when you tell them you are "39" (AGAIN)

HAL & Celebrity

In my opinion any cruise that you take that is more than 10 days in length there will be more seniors than any other group aboard, no matter which line it is -- since they seem to have the time to go on the longer cruises ...

But if you are limited to 10 days or less, I would say both HAL and Celebrity seem to cater more to the seniors than to any other group.

I have sailed 7 day cruises (Caribbean & Alaska) on HAL - and there were more seniors on the Alaska cruise than the Carib. The only experience I had on Celebrity was a 17 day W Med & transatlantic - and I guess there were more seniors, but it could have been more of the "baby boomer" seniors than any other group. (50-60 year olds ... which I am among) We LOVE both HAL and Celebrity ... as well as the longer NCL cruises.

hope this helps.
Charbie
