Define Senior

What's "Senior" to you?

I'm a senior and don't take it personal!! I use it when there are discounts.

My Signature Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Past Cruises Most people walk into and out of your life . . . but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart

Being 61 I think of senior as someone 80 or above. However since age 50 I have been a "senior" going to the movies, some restrurant menus, and of course getting mailings from AARP. Now on certain days if you are over 60 you get a discount at Kohls and Herbergers. (Kohls might be a little older, not sure as hubby was with me and he is older, 64, so we got the discount).
Do they give discounts at a certain age for cruising? As for activity level, the only thing I don't do now that I still did in my 30's is downhill skiing. I quit that more for money reasons at the time than because of age.

I think it's 55 for cruise discounts ... at least with RCI. I'm getting there!

Are you sure about that? Is it the same on every cruiseline? That would mean I am 6 years into it and haven't got a discount yet. Can it be for any room or do they put you in a lesser room? I'm going to have to look into this. My cruisin buddy, Jan, is 2 years older. Think of what we could have been saving.....:headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2

if i am talking to a 25 yo i am a senior ..if i talk to a 40 year old i am not quite there yet, if i talk to a 50 year old they say nah aint no way we are seniors, if i talk to others older than me they call me a kiddo... so as long as the cruiselines and hotels give me discounts for being an AARP member I will always consider myself a senior... i did in high school at least for one year

From the RCI site:
Special Cruise Pricing Are there special prices for seniors? We offer reduced senior prices only on selected sailings exclusively for guests who are 55 years of age and older. We offer these special sailings several times a year.

So if you are an AARP member you can participate in the discounted cruises at RCI? I did not know that!
