Thread: National Marine Park - Cozumel

I've seen many good things posted about the Palancar Reef in Cozumel....but has anyone snorkeled Cozumel's National Marine Park??

Most of the reefs around Cozumel are in the National Marine Park, including Palancar, Chankanaab & others. We dove several of the reefs in Jan '06, and there was still quite of bit of damage from the previous year's hurricanes. At that time,the sponges were just starting to reappear, but there were lots of fish, rays, and 1 little turtle. We haven't been back since, but I am sure it has improved in the last 12 months.
