Our Alaska cruise....anyone joining us???

Dobie, nope, but we are sailing on her in Feb. Have you ever been on her before?

Yes, we've been on the Sapphire, but not to Alaska. Are you going to Mexico? Do you want pics? Have you done Randi's Happy Horses? I'm heading to bed, so forgive no answer as I get up at 5 and don't get home till after 6. I'll send you whatever you want or answer questions...

And I would love some pics of the ship. I guess you must have liked her if you are sailing on her again. We have done Randi's. Wasn't she awesome? We had such a great time with her. I would do that one all over again.
We have been to Alaska, but it was in 2003, so my memory is shot Not really, so if you want to know anything just ask away. We were on Radiance of the Seas to Alaska. I would bet even a tugboat would be fine.
It is so darned beautiful.

Hawaii, yay! We've done that cruise at least 4 times, maybe 6, I've lost count. I need to figure out how to post pics here, and I'll do that when I get some time off..we're going out of town this weekend, so as soon as I can I will. We did like the Sapphire, the crew was marvelous...as wonderful as the crew on the Zuiderdam was awful. We had traditional dining and our wait staff was great. Our room steward, also great. Only prob was the kids taking over the covered pool, but on the long Hawaii itinerary as long as it's not spring break you should be OK.
Are you going during whale season? We've done independent excursions in Lahaina with the Pacific Whale Watching Foundation on several occasions and loved it.
Give me a couple of weeks for the pictures....I work long hours so don't have that much time except on the weekends....and no internet at our place in No AZ this weekend. If you want to see specifics, let me know. We got upgraded from obstructed view to room B102...which is a forward HUGE balcony...with no furniture...they say it blows around. But it was nice to be able to step outside and watch the sailaways....and no smokers around us! I put out the chairs from the desk when I wanted to sit out there.

Dobie, no rush! We are going in Feb 26, so hope to see some whales. If not, oh well, we've seen them before. I'm looking forward to the sea days over and back. Can you spell RELAX? LOL.
We have an AD almost to the aft. Last cabin before the aft's. I prefer the aft's, but the money was a little too much this time around. Although we did get almost a $500 price drop since the inception.

Where in N. Az do you go? We went to Sedona in May for 5 days and had a glorious time, except for a lovely wind/sand storm that closed the freeways.

Our place is in Pinetop...which we love because of all of the pines..it smells so great! There is a ski area there, and my sister uses our place sometimes when she goes skiing, but we don't do the snow....we go up for T'Giving and then not again till March. Since we bought it a few years ago we've cut back on the cruises, because, frankly, we love being up there and relaxing with no worries...kind of like cruising without the water. Ours is a condo, 30 yrs old, but big....1515 sq feet, 3 beds, 2 baths, separate floor plan...so we don't have to worry about the roof, landscaping, or paint...and my mom up up there all summer (she's 80)...I don't worry about her for a minute....all of our neighbors have keys to our place and we have keys to thiers...so it is perfect for us. I actually don't miss cruising so much because of Pinetop....and the last time I was on a cruise (the Sapphire in March)...I was thinking.....I could be doing this in Pinetop without the screaming kids and be happier! So we'll see what happens, I think our cruising days are slowing down the more cruising goes "family".

We went on the Sapphire to Alaska but back in 2004 when it was brand new. I'll try to look through our photos to see if I have some of the ship. But if I have any cabin ones, it'll just be ours (which was an inside on Caribe).

I do have pics of our cabin, it was cat BA. When I figure it out I'll post them. Off to work for me!

Dobie, your condo sounds awesome. I know what you mean about the smell of the pines. We like to go to Tahoe just to smell the air. So clean!
