Which of these have you done in San Juan?

While in San Juan, which of these have you done? Saying how you enjoyed them would be helpful to many.

We wen tto the fort ont eh hill and then wandered the streets , quite pleasant but we have no desire to go back. The entry into the port was quite scenic too.

We went to all of the forts, and there were displays that explained the history.
For restaurants, we went to Tantra which has an amazing menu from Latino and Indian cultures. We also went to other restaurants, but I can't find the right now - they may have changed.

We stayed in Old San Juan twice, and both times our concierge helped us find great places to eat.

I loved walking around the old city and enjoyed seeing the blue cobblestone streets.

We walked around old San Juan the first time and really enjoyed ourselves...Really cool to see the old small streets and some of the local shops...

During our walk we ended up at Castillo San Cristobal (within walking distance of ships) and really enjoyed it...that is my "other vote" feel free to view some photos of it here, and please feel free to make fun of our ponchos... https://picasaweb.google.com/1031719...uanPuertoRico#

On our second trip to San Juan we did the Bacardi trip and it was okay. Seeing the distillery was interesting but they only showed you certain parts that is obviously setup for tours. At the end you get dropped off at the gift shop, which has some neat stuff... OH and some free drinks All in all it is a neat experience but not a must do. Our biggest complaint is that it was Bacardi + city tour or something... Anyway because of the Christmas stuff still happening in January the streets were packed and that portion was canceled...Instead they took us shopping at the mall... Well, let us say, I did not go on vacation to head to the mall. We were given the option to cancel but we both still wanted to see the Bacardi factory. Going to the mall sucked.

I agree with Dan - the Bacardi factory is not a "must" unless you are a food scientist. The exhibit that showed the history of the family was interesting since it gave you some history of Cuba and Puerto Rico in the first half of the 20th century, but it was way too long. i felt like they had a large space and they filled it with whatever they can find. Alcohol prices in the gift shop were not that great unless you live somewhere where alcohol and/or imports are very highly taxed.

We like Puerto Rica much more on "land trips" than we do having a port stop in San Juan. The only times be have been to beaches were when we were staying in hotels.

For port stops we normally walk around in Old San Juan and have lunch at a restaurant. When it's a evening port stop, we go to Senor Frog's because it's very close to the ship.

Once we had a late flight and went to the rain forest. It was an excursion through the ship which was not very good ... actually boring unless you like to look at trees. At least the cruise line took care of our luggage while we were doing it.

My other is gamble. There are some very nice casinos there.

That is very true about the gift shop prices, not worth the trip... They just had some neat trinkets and all the various flavors and types of rum they create...

    We bought nothing.

I've been hoping someone has taken a Bioluminescence Bay tour and will tell us about it.
