Hi Guys,
My wife and I have booked the san juan park hotel in puerto rico.
It has gotten some pretty good reviews on trip advisor.
Tour46...could you give me any insight on this hotel?
Thanks

hi bigdaddyk, this is hotel is very nice. Its not on the beach so you must walk a little to get there.
It doesnt have a variety of food places very near but not farfrom them. Anything from the upscale AJILLI MOJILLI to a Subway.
Walking distance from the old city, well about 20 minutes along side the ocean.
Near the Hilton hotel that always has some show going on.
I hope this was helpful and please keep asking your questions.
Thanks...glad to hear we made a good choice.
Is there any local place that you could recommend for dinner? Doesn't have to be anything fancy...just some place we can get a really good meal.
By the way...when you say food places are not too far...what is that in terms of minutes walk....less than 5 minutes?
Thanks for all your help.

If you are taking a cruise the next day and your ship is at the Pan American Pier, I recommend staying in the old city. There is the historical www.elconvento.com
or the simple www.hotelmilanopr.com
or the newer www.sheratonoldsanjuan.com
You still have to take a cab but you have plenty to do.
Thanks for the tips tour46 but we looked at these3 hotels as well but they were a bit pricey for what we wanted.Which basically is somewhere clean and safe to stay for the night and San Juan Park Hotel fit our bill.
We are really looking forward to our visit.

Just finished reading all the posts about staying pre or post cruise in San Juan. Went to the gotopuertorico.com site and it doesn't come up.
Looking for a inexpensive hotel on or very near the beach, we're staying over after our cruise so location is not a big issue.
any suggestions?
Carnival Victory April 22,2012. so excited to be cruising again.
