Guess we'll know soon enough.
We sail out of San Juan in 23 days.
Going down two days early for a look-see, as well.

Brooke - as for RCI and the non discounting policy... that may be the case. However, RCI does sometimes offer resident discounts in order to fill the ship. They know that locals can get to the ports easily so if they have extra room, they'll offer a resident discount to fill the ship. It happens here in So Cal sometimes, thats why you find a lot of Californian's on cruises out of Long Beach/San Pedro.

As for unruly people in San Juan, let us know your experience when you get back.

If you are going to be in San Juan on a Sunday - I would highly recommend going out to the old fort at the very tip of the city "El Morro". It's beautiful to see any time of the week - but on Sunday's the locals go there and fly kites. There are hundreds of kites in the air at any given time. It's truly a thing worth checking out!

Enjoy this old beautiful city!

I wonder if Galveston offers a similar discount? How would one find out about this?

Mike - you need to ask your TA. they don't always advertise these deals. You should ask your TA to ask RCI if they have some sort of special residents discount. Usually the ones I've seen are for TX, FL and CA residents....

I've sailed out of San Juan twice on Princess and once on Radisson and never noticed any difference from leaving any other port. I agree, Old San Juan is beautiful.
