Overly Friendly PIGEONS in San Juan?

Does anyone else find the PIGEONS in San Juan to be "way too friendly"?

I guess we'll find out next Monday when we arrive on the Carnival Liberty. Maybe they won't be as bad in the evening. We'll be there from 5 PM to midnight, but in December, we leave out of San Juan on the Carnival Victory, and we'll be able to see them in the daytime. I hope they're nothing like the ones I encountered at a park in London, where they land on your head or shoulder, whatever is closest. Nothing like having one of them do its "business" on your coat!

    They get fed a lot.
We didn't have any try to get ON either of us, but they certainly weren't shy!

THEY ARE exacly like what we experienced in London in certain places in San Juan!

Since you'll be there in the evening, you should have no problems!

LuLu - We're back from the Liberty, but didn't have enough time to really see much. We sailed in past the fort and docked around 5 PM. With the rush of people getting off, we decided to go to dinner at the normal time of 6:15 PM. When we finally got off the ship, it was already dark, thus, no pigeons. We only got to walk a few blocks, buy a few souvenirs from the street vendors, and had to be back on board by 9:30 PM and set sail at 10 PM (not midnight). I'll have to wait until we sail out of San Juan on the Victory in December. Since we don't leave until 10 PM, we can get there early enough, board the ship, THEN go out looking for pigeons!

Thanks LuLu! I'd bring some pigeons home for you, but I think customs would confiscate them!

I've been to San Juan several times by cruise and once spent 8 days there on vacation and have never encountered any pigeons.

Aren't all pigeons friendly? Almost as bad as seagulls.
