Victor, I want to say a big thanks for our "mystery tour". We all had a great time and learned a lot of PR history. I can't believe we didn't have a question that could stump you.

For those of you who have booked or are thinking of it, Victor was great. He met us at the pier and we were on our way within 5 minutes. We saw Old SJ and New SJ. We stopped for an ice cream. We stopped at the fort for just a quick look see as that wasn't a priority for us. We were downtown in the financial district.
Victor's knowledge of PR was immense. He volunteered much info and we were amazed at what he knew. His driving...well...just kidding, it was great.
He dropped one of us off in the shopping area and talked the rest of us into going to the fort. This was on the first Tuesday of the month and at the fort they have local folklore dancing. It was great! We walked from the fort to the ship, (a whole 10 minutes maybe and all down hill).
If anyone has any questions feel free to pm me.
    Hanna

Hello Victor: Been to Puerto Rico many times. We're arriving Tuesday, 29 January, 2008 from 1330 to 2000.

Just want to know the lunch hours for La Mallorquina. We try to have some Asapao there with some flan for dessert whenever we're in San Juan.

We also like to stop by The Butterfly People to see if there's anything else we would like to bring home from them.

    Thanks for the information.

I will be in Old San Juan next May at the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel. Is there a good place nearby to buy sun screen, toothpaste etc before our cruise?

Victor...we will be arriving in San Juan on 2-24-12 very late...but we'll be there all day on Saturday the 25th. A few of our group is thinking about visiting the Rum factory either on Saturday the 25th or we'll do it the following Sunday when we return to San Juan.
Can you advise on the best way to get there from the Embassy Suites and return to the hotel?! Any help/advise is GREATLY appreciated!

    Hello PAgsxriders

To go to the distillery from the Emabassy, made I recommend (option #1)
taking bus #53 or #5 to old San Juan, (which is the last stop). 75 cents per person correct change. can take about 1/2 hour
At the bus terminal located basically in front of pier # 4 walk down the block to pier # 2 and take the ferry to CataƱo. (75 cents p/p) Its a 15 minute ride.
On the other side there are vans that shared a ride to the distillery for about $3 p/p.
At the distillery, there is no entrance fee. Take the tour with the local guide. Have two complimentary drinks. Shop... Expect to be there for about 1.5 hours
The returned the way you went....
    That`s option # 1
Option # 2 is taking a cab , telling the driver to wait and come back
That can come out to $120.00

    How`s that?
