    san juan hotels

i posted this in the hotel section and got no replies so ill try it again. Does anybody have any information about hotels in San Juan? i am looking to book a room post cruise and would like to know of any good hotels and which ones to stay away from. Im looking for one with at least a pool and possibly a nice beach, but can live without either one.

I'm not there often, but lately just stay at the Sheraton Old San Juan (used to ne Wyndham).

No beach but near cruise piers (most of them). Has a casino and a rooftop pool.

    Marriott

We are off to the Marriott in Condado next week. I have heard wonderful reports. We got it on Priceline for a song!

I stayed at El Convento and the Caribe Hilton years ago, but choked when I saw the prices El Convento wanted for my last stay. But I really liked both.

I stayed at the Sheraton Old San Juan pre and post cruise this past March. It was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly.

Whether or not you can walk to the pier depends on the cruiseline? The Sheraton is directly across the street from Pier # 4. Currently, pier # 4 is being used by Carnival and Princess. Be aware though that sometimes Princess uses the Pan Am Pier.

RCCL and Celebrity use the Pan Am Pier which is across the harbor from Old San Juan. There are really no hotels close to the Pan Am Pier though. We took a taxi from the Sheraton to the Pan Am Pier for around $15.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Coronado. We booked this simply because we had enough points to get two free nights...

It was a little dated, but not bad. It had a pool and was about a block and a half from this beach:

We just got the Marriott Stellaris on Priceline for our pre-cruise stay before our Serenade cruise. We stayed across the small side street from it last time at El Canario by the Sea. It was an okay hotel, but we are really looking forward to staying at the Marriott for the same price!
