San Juan

What are your suggestions for things to do while at this port?
Thank you

We were there last week and just went shopping and walking around. We only had 4 hours, so...
It was a pleasant walk and the shops were ok. Not fantastic, just ok.

In San Juan, the City and Barcadi Rum Distilary tour is very good, this is a half day tour. The El Yunque Rainforest Tour is another tour we did and I would recommend it. It's an all day affair where you go to a beach after the rainforest tour.If you are just there for the port of call day, I'd suggest you take the San Juan City/Barcadi Rum Distilary tour.

I suggest to visit Old San Juan, Castillo El Moro & San Cristobal for a taste of ancient Spanish colonial period

THere are a lot of steep streets in San Juan.

We really wanted to see El Morro... but the walk towards the fort was all my DH could handle (he has a heart condition) so we never made it into the fort.

Just so folks know that there is a lot of walking and some of it uphill.

However, the walk along the waterfront is fairly level, and well worth the time, so that's a great alternative.

I found this web site while researching my ports of call fr my next cruise. Hope it helps. There are very steep hills in San Juan, but there is a trolley or bus that runs up the hills. Then it could be a nice walk back.

Once we went in early and stayed overnight in Old San Juan, right across the street from where the ships dock. We really enjoyed just walking all around Old San Juan.
