Current weather forecast for San Francisco

Current weather forecast for San Francisco.

We have been having great weather. Rain was forecat for last evening and it began just about on time. The city has some flooding reported. "Flooding" means that a drain is clogged with (most likely) leaves and the water backed up resulting in a 2 to 4 inch puddle.

Hitting that at freeway speed is NOT a good idea.

Do not let the weather keep you away. But be careful when driving in the reduced conditions.

For those who like the rain. The city is a great place for walking.

Some of you may have heard the reports of high winds and electrical outages in the San Francisco area.

All true.

But we have emergency services that are geared for such problems and when difficulty arises, repairs are quickly performed.

Come on out!

On my street, there were trash cans upended, leaves and some small twigs trashing the sidewalks and streets. Nothing major. For that matter, minor damage was not noticable.

They reported 98 mph winds on Angel Island last night Ed!! We got some big gusts and a bad squall line here too, and it looks like we are going to have a really unstable day today too!!

What happened to that lovely spring we were having??

Only a temporary lull in the celebration of spring!! Even heaven has clouds!!

Keep an eye on the weather link on the starting post. it has a sat shot and the local weather radar and all the warnings are in RED.

For your local weather, if not in the bay area, just type the location into the box at the top of the screen and it will give that location.

Updates every few minutes and to get them just click recycle.

The Bay to Breakers is coming up and it would be bad if the streakers caught cold

Ed, thanks for this. We had the high winds last night and lost some big tree limbs.
Not fun.

We did get kicked around a bit last night and more is coming. Take a look at the weather in the first post on this thread and click on the Satellite shot.

Hugh storm. Hugh.

More on the way.

The flooding of shops is of concern. In some of the low lying areas of the city, the shopowner may need some sand bags. The city has them. And they should already have them in place.\

If you are a cruiser and want some beautiful shots of the bay area, this wind will eliminate haze and fog and you can see for 30 miles. Maybe the ceiling is only 5000 feet but on the horizontal yep, Mt. Diablo, way off by Walnut Creek.

Come on down. Bring a parka. But come.

The weather in San Francisco is cold - cold - cold and wet. Hail, sleet, rain, snow - just cannot make up its mind.

Check the weather link above.
